On arrival you will be welcomed by your private chauffeur guide for the tour and then transfer you to the hotel in Bentota, which will be your stop for two nights.
Bentota is a town famed for the water sports and activities on offer. Today you will enjoy a Donut Ride and Jet skiing to kick start your beach holiday.
This morning you will drive off to the next stop of your beach holiday, to one of the most famous beaches of the south‐Unawatuna. Start off the day with a boat safari at the Madu Ganga river, which is a shallow water body in southwest Sri Lanka, which enters the sea at Balapitiya. This beautiful river is considered as Sri Lanka’s second largest wetland consisting of 32 islands including two main islands providing shelter to 215 families. During the pre colonization period Madu Ganga was used as one of the main waterways connecting cities and ancient Sinhala Kingdoms. The main treasure of Madu Ganga is its mangroves that act as a bio‐lock to the area in giving protection to the variety of aquatic plants and animal life. They provide a home for different kinds of aquatic plants, crabs, shrimps, fish, various invertebrates and other animal life including crocodiles. Next, you drive further south to Ambalangoda, the masks capital of Sri Lanka. Here you will visit a masks museum and learn all about Sri Lankan masks. The day is capped off with a visit to a turtle hatchery.
After breakfast enjoy a sightseeing tour in Galle Fort‐ a UNESCO world heritage site. Its rich heritage is derived from the colonial influences of the Portuguese, Dutch and the British respectively, spanning four centuries. The town’s centrepiece is the Dutch Fort, around which the city is built. Spend rest of the day in leisure in Unawatuna beach.
Today you will drive further south in to the coastal town of Mirissa‐ the whale watching hotspot. En route, enjoy the site of stilt fisherman in Weligama‐ In chest deep water on the beach, just few meters off‐shore, are the stilt fishermen perched on a cross bar one-on-one of a single pole planted into the sea‐bed. These fishermen spend hours with their lines cast out to the sea to catch small fish. Spend rest of the day in leisure in Mirissa beach.
Early morning you will set off on a whale and dolphin watching boat safari. Mirissa is the best place in Sri Lanka to spot Blue whales, Sperm whales and hundreds of Spinner dolphins. After this amazing adventure you will head off to another day on the beach in Mirissa/Polhena beach.
Spend the day in leisure by the beach until time to drop off at the airport for departure.
